About Tate Willis
From Bullied Schoolgirl to England’s Youngest Football Captain
Tate Willis isn’t your typical footballer. Born with a limb difference, she faced death threats at just five years old. By ten, she was being physically attacked and emotionally tormented at school. Forced to move schools three times, her early life was defined by cruelty, exclusion, and a fight for acceptance.
But Tate didn’t give up.
She rose.

At just 12 years old, she was playing academy-level football with able-bodied players. By 16, she was captaining her Sussex RTC Academy team in the Junior Premier League. And at 17, Tate made history—becoming the youngest ever England football captain, leading the Women’s Amputee Lionesses at the World Cup in Colombia 2024.
Tate is now preparing for her next chapter:
A life-changing scholarship to play elite soccer in the U.S., while studying for a law degree. She’ll continue to represent England internationally as the #1 goalkeeper for the national amputee team. But this journey isn’t funded—every camp, every flight, and every tournament comes at a personal cost.
Tate is entirely self-funded to play for her country.
With your help, that can change.
She’s not asking for handouts. She’s asking for a chance—to represent her country, chase her dream, and inspire others who’ve been made to feel like they don’t belong.
This is more than football.
This is about fairness, fire, and a future worth fighting for.
